You Are The Most Corrupt MP...How Dare You Accuse A Supreme Court Judge Of Bribery? Chairman Wontumi Goes After Muntaka

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has strongly responded to statements by the Member of Parliament for Asawase, Muntaka Mubarak, concerning a bribery allegation he made against a Supreme Court Judge.

Mr. Antwi-Boasiako in an interview on Wontumi TV stated that he is surprised a corrupt MP like Muntaka would have the guts to talk about bribery when his stock in trade is promoting nauseating acts of corruption.

In addressing the issue, the NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi described the NDC legislator as the most corrupt MP in Ghana following his history of scandals that are still fresh in the minds of several Ghanaians.

As former Minister of Youth and Sports, Muntaka according to Chairman Wontumi blew moneys belonging to the taxpayer on pampers and ‘khebab’.

For this reason, he was forced to appear before the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ).

The Asawase MP blew over GH¢16.640 of the taxpayers’ sweat on his child’s pampers, food, oil and a host of other fleeting desires, he was said to have ordered for the release of over GH¢1.4 million to the Sports Council without the approval of the Chief of Staff.

Chairman Wontumi continued that recounted that whilst in office, he travelled with his girlfriend, Edith Zineuali, secretary to then Majority Leader in Parliament and now Speaker of Parliament, Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin, to a tournament in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire, and slept in a plush hotel, tossing the bills to the State.

Despite having this shameful record in his life, Muntaka Mubarak is rather in the news for a negative reason for alleging that a top judge had attempted to bribe an NDC MP to vote for Professor Mike Oquaye during the election of a speaker for the 8th Parliament. Oquaye lost the race to former NDC lawmaker, Alban Bagbin.

He later said his party has evidence to prove a bribery allegation leveled against a Supreme Court judge.
