Refusal on the part of former President John Mahama to step aside for another candidate to take over flagbearership role in the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is the final nail in the coffin of his part, Ernest Adjei has said.
In an interview on Wontumi TV which was monitored by Wontumionline, the Manhyia South Constituency Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) stated that it would be better for Mr. Mahama to allow other members of the his part to be given an opportunity to lead the NDC just as EIU has reported.
“Mahama wants to collapse NDC and bury it in a coffin. He is acting like there is no wise person in the NDC”, Ernest Adjei said.
Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), has reported that the NDC cannot win the 2024 general elections with former president Mahama as presidential candidate.
This was revealed in the EIU’s five-year forecast for Ghana released on April 13, 2022.
According to the report the NDC can revitalize this prospect of victory if they present a fresh presidential candidate for the 2024 polls.
Commenting on the report, Mr. Ernest Adjei stated that the NPP has perused the document and would accept every critic in it in good faith to avoid repeating mistakes that can take the NPP to opposition.
