Retired Supreme Court judge, Justice William Atuguba is now a “political animal” who shouldn’t be spared the full weight that comes with the extreme politics he is publicly practicing, lawyer Maurice Ampaw has advocated.
The seasoned lawyer stated on Wontumi TV last Sunday which was monitored by Wontumionline.com that the partisan stance taken by William Atuguba has set him up for counter attacks he should be prepared to deal with.
“We see you as a political animal and we will also come after you”, lawyer Maurice Ampaw said.
He also urged Justice William Atuguba to immediately retract the scandalous statement he made against the Supreme Court.
Justice William Atuguba, is reported to have described the decision of the Supreme Court in the Gyakye Quayson case as “scandalous.”
Delivering a lecture last Tuesday, Justice Atuguba said the apex court adjudicated on a matter which had already been adjudicated by the High Court, which goes against the basic principle of law.
“The decision of the Gyakye Quayson case was scandalous. The Supreme Court re-adjudicated the matter already decided by the High Court”, he said.
But lawyer Ampaw maintained that he ought to retract the statement and apologize to the Supreme Court.
