You Are Not News…Oppong Nkrumah, Media Won’t Waste Time On You- Gordon Asare-Bediako To Prof. Frimpong Boateng

Ace broadcast journalist, Gordon Asare-Bediako has fired former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Prof Kwabena Frimpong Boateng over claims that Kojo Oppong Nkrumah connived with some media houses to wreck Ghana’s fight against galamsey.

Delivering a prologue on the Bekyere Mu show which airs on Movement TV every Saturday, Gordon Asare-Bediako told Prof Kwabena Frimpong Boateng in the face that his accusations about the Information Minister were false and that no media house published stories under the instruction of Kojo Oppong to undermine the fight against galamsey.

You say Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and some others have connived to say something about you. It is only you who knows the skeleton in your closet which is haunting you. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah wouldn’t waste his time on you”, Gordon Asare-Bediako said.

In a report filed by the former Minister for Environment, Science and Technology dated March 19, 2021, he alleged that “On Saturday the 8th of February 2020. Mr. Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, the Minister for Information assembled a group of journalists from both NDC and NPP-affiliated media houses at the Forest Hotel in Dodowa to discuss a strategy to bring me Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng down. Whilst they were there a journalist from among the group called a friend of mine, also a journalist, and informed him about the plot that was being hatched. He further informed my friend to watch out for headlines in some newspapers in the days following the meeting,”

But Gordon Asare-Bediako responded that “The entire media fraternity in Ghana wouldn’t waste its time on you. You are not the news. In your absence as ministers, the media is functioning well and publishing stories..If it is that program and I know it is that exact programme you are talking about- but sorry Prof, you have missed the target.”
