Naa Bohagu Mahami Adbulai Sheriga, the Overlord of Mamprugu Traditional Area has given his blessings and support to the Chairmanship ambition of Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, further promising his protection as the latter journeys across the country.
Describing Wontumi as a son, the Powerful Traditional Ruler gave his fatherly advice, maintaining that though he believes in the capabilities of the Ashanti Regional Chairman, he wants him to do more in ensuring the party stay united and focused.
Revered as a powerful Spiritual Leader of the Traditional Area, Naa Bohagu Mahami Adbulai Sheriga tasked Wontumi and his team, to maintain discipline as they embark on this national agenda.
The Nayiri made these pronouncement last Wednesday, when the Ashanti Regional Chairman, as part of his nationwide campaign tour to the North East region, paid a courtesy on him at his Palace.
The call by Wontumi and his team was a sign of respect, owing to the father-son bond that had existed between them.
He was of the firm view that his son will do a great job for the NPP, but cautioned against any level of complacency.
For Bernard Antwi Boasiako, his coming to Nayiri’s palace is not for anything than “coming to greet my father, as a show of loyalty and to seek my father’s blessings, protection and support for the task ahead.”
He thanked the traditional leader for his continued prayers and advice to his son- Dr Mahamudu Bawumia- expressing hope that his prayers hold the power to make their flag bearer, the next president of the Republic of Ghana.
