Hiplife artiste Eduwodzi who now wants to be known as Doji Songx says his long absence from the music scene after his hit song Yenko Nkoaa almost a decade ago is because he did not plan the future of his career well.
He mentioned in an interview with Graphic Showbiz that as a young and upcoming artiste back then, the instant hit of Yenko Nkoaa took him by surprise and didn’t know how to meet up to the “new standards” afterwards.
Eduwodzi said he didn’t release the final work at Yenko Nkoaa but was testing the waters with the demo when the song went viral and become an instant hit.
“I never knew Yenko Nkoaa would be this big. I hadn’t prepared for such exposure. I didn’t even have plansto follow up with subsequent songs.
“In fact Yenko Nkoaa song was a demo and not the final work but to my surprise, it turned out to be very big and the expectations from me were high at the time.
“With such huge expectations, I decided to go back and study how the music industry works. It has been 10 Years of learning. I can say I am ready now after studying and learning from those who matter in the industry,” he told Graphic Showbiz in a recent interview.
Eduwodzi now known as Doji Sonx is out with a new single My Ex released three weeks ago.
He is hopeful that the latest song will be bigger than Yenko Nkoaa adding, “In the next six months I expect My Ex to take over Ghana and go international”.
