Yendi Residents To Thank NanaAddo On Election Day With “Unprecedented Votes”
The Yendi Municipal Chief Executive,Alhaji Hammed Abubakari Yussuf, yesterday stunned both Wontumi TV and Radio audience when he revealed that as many as over 170 development projects have been sited in the Yendi area since the Nana Addo-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) assumed office.
Hon. Abubakari Yussuf however, made an emphatic statement that even though the entire people of Dagbon place a high premium on the infrastructural projects provided by the current government and therefore owe a big debt of gratitude to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, what stands out as their most valuable gift from the ruling party is the “existing peace on their land whose true worth is incomparable.”
“Currently the whole of Dagbon is enjoying a sustainable peace and we are short of words with which to thank Nana Addo. Life has returned to normal for the people of Dagbon and ll thaat we can say is that we shall forever be grateful for the intervention by his Excellency the President that has given us true peace.” The Yendi MCE said with emotions.
Hon told Oheneba Nana Asiedu the host of Wontumi Communications Election 2020 programme on Monday that the entire Dagbon will on the election day reward the President with their votes that will be “unprecedented.”
Cataloguing the infrastructural projects which have sprang up in the Yendi Municipality on a programme which is another form of the “Delivery Tracker” presented by the Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahammudu Bawumia, the Yendi MCE was very much particular about the establishment of the Business Resource Centre( BRC) in Yendi.
The BRC forms part of the government’s Rural Enterprises Programme at the district level geared towards the NPP’s industrialization agenda including the One District One Factory (1D1F) initiative.
“Construction of the Yendi edifice started in 2018 and forms part of the 37 BRC’s being constructed across the country. Yendi has a West African Buffer Stock facilitgy while an abandoned rice mill has been reactivated.”
Hon Alhaji Yussif also spoke about the GHC140,000.00 CHPS at Kpanjanba funded through the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF). The facility handles the medical care of residents including pregnant women of all the 12 surrounding communities including Wuchado, Konkonzugu, Takoriyili, Sukami, Kuprogmado, and Kpanianba .
