Yeji: ST. Bernard Catholic Church Inaugurates Peace And Justice Committee For Election 2020

 

Catholic churches has been ordered by the Ghana catholic bishops conference to get involve in politics. The churches are task to involved in other to foster peace and justice before, during and after the elections.

In accordance with the orders of catholic bishops conference, St. Bernard Catholic Church of Yeji in the Bono-East Region led by the parish priest, Rev. Father Isaac has inaugurated the Peace and Justice Committee chairs by the parish priest of Yeji.

Detailing the duties of the committee, a gentle sent by the archbishop of Bono Region to do the inaugural ceremony explain that, the committee formed will work thoroughly in politics, do thoroughly investigations into political related issues and also educate church members.

They will sit up and see to it that catholic church members as well as Ghanaians stay in peace irrespective of political parties deferences.

Elections are held to decide next governance and is decision making not war, he said.

The Committee will also make sure politicians are accountable to the people. MPs, DCEs and political parties will be invited to account to the people as electorates.

The parish priest and also the chairman of the committee advice the congregation to avoid unhealthy political talks everywhere among themselves and others. Ghana is a peaceful country and we must stay out of war, he said.

He promise the committee will work in accordance with the bishops orders, principles of the said committee.

All we need is peace in the December elections.
