World Cup: Black Stars Have A Good Team, No Additions Needed – Jordan Ayew

Black Stars captain, Jordan Ayew has stated that the team does not need new players, as the current squad is strong enough to compete at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to him, the core of the team that played in the qualifiers is capable of leading Ghana to success at the tournament.

The Leicester City forward emphasised that the limited preparation time also makes it impractical to introduce new players.

Speaking in an interview with Joy Sports, Ayew noted that the team is improving in cohesion and building a positive atmosphere ahead of the World Cup.

“No, I think the players that have played the qualifiers have done extremely well. I don’t think we need any additions. We have a good team. As time goes on, we are improving. We don’t have much time to train together, we usually have one or two days before a game.”

“It’s not always easy, but we’re gelling, getting to know each other, and the unity is getting better. Everything is positive, so I don’t think it’s the right time for changes,” he said.

When asked about Ghanaian players excelling at club level possibly joining the squad, Ayew stressed that such decisions rest with the technical team.

“To be honest, I’m not a coach. It’s up to the coach to decide what he needs and what to add to the team. We just want to go out there and put on a good show,” he added.
