Work Together To Build A World-Class Fund- Ken Ofori-Atta Charges MIIF Board

The Finance Minister, Hon. Ken Ofori Atta, has compelled the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) board to work in harmony to build a world-class fund.

Ken Ofori-Atta added that the board should work together to create a pioneering template for Africa.

The Finance Minister’s assertion was contained in a statement sighted by wontumionline.com

He indicated that, the MIIF board should build capacity to support socially responsible and beneficial projects in the mining areas.

The members of the board include;

 Edward Nana Yaw Koranteng, CEO and Member
 Mrs Felicia Gyamfi Ashley, Member
 Hon. George Mireku Duker, Member
 Rev Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, Member

The Minister of Finance, Hon. Ken Ofori-Atta has inaugurated the Board of the at the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday 12th October 2021.

The reconstitution of the Board is in line with the Minerals Income Investment Fund Act, 2018
(Act 978) as amended.
The Minister in his speech entreated the board to work together in building a world-class Fund and create a pioneering template for Africa.

The Minister of Finance further emphasized the need for MIIF to build capacity to support socially responsible and beneficial projects in the mining areas, champion women in mining and exploration and guide long-term wealth creation for Ghana
and Ghanaians.

He concluded his remarks by thanking and congratulating members of the reconstituted Board and urged them to help transform the mining sector so it supports the Government’s overall
agenda of job creation, development of the mining communities, infrastructure development and
the overall economic growth of Ghana.

This he noted, is aligned to the vision of a Ghana Beyond Aid.
