Dr. Solomon Kwarteng Forkuo, has asserted that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) needs a warrior as Regional Chairman and not a “Catechist” or “Choirmaster”.
The senior lecturer at the Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) stated on Wontumi TV which was monitored by Wontumionline.com that Chairman Wontumi has won power for the NPP twice; and deserves to be given a third chance to lead them.
Chairman Wontumi drew crowd to his side as he arrived at the Baba Yara Stadium today. The popular NPP Chairman is contesting to be retained as Ashanti Regional Chairman.
The chairmanship position has five contestants but has been reduced to a two-horse race between incumbent, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi) and Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, populary referred to COKA.
It is estimated that 950 delegates will cast their ballot to elect nine officers at various levels to lead the party ahead of the 2024 general elections.
