Relatives and close allies of the retained National Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) are still brooding over what they say was the schismatic attitude of Former President John Dramani Mahama in the lead up to the just ended Youth and Women’s National Delegates elections of the party.
They claim that Former President Mahama, whom they thought was the party’s Father and figure head, has really disappointed them with the attitude he exhibited, especially against the elected National Youth Organizer, Lawyer George Opare Addo.
Former President Mahama and his cohorts have come under intense attacks from a section of the party who have condemned them for openly showing aversion towards Lawyer George Opare Addo during the party’s Youth and Women’s Delegates elections held last Saturday in Cape Coast in the Central Region.
According to them “they were expecting Former President Mahama to behave as an elder within the party and not engage in covert and overt tactics against any of the candidates”
“Being a Former President and flagbearer, one would have thought President Mahama will adopt a neutral position, wait till the end of the elections and throw his support behind the eventual winner but he did not only support Brogya Genfi but also condoned and sponsored viled campaign Pablo. This is very unfortunate on his part” they averred in a release issued earlier today condemning the divisive attitude of the former leader of the party.
They therefore sounded a word caution to the rank and file of the party that it would not sit aloof and watch, if any individual or a group attempts to run down the office of the retained National Youth Organizer of the party.
