Whilst Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia is openly embracing lepers, John Mahama is rather using their weakness to insult others, Ishaq Kyei-Brobbey has observed.
The 2020 flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Mahama claims his party members in the Ashanti region are being treated like lepers.
But his comment received condemnation from Mr. Ishaq Kyei-Brobbey who claimed that whilst Vice President Bawumia is seen welcoming lepers with open arms, John Mahama has rather insulted them by describing them in a disgusting manner.
During the 58th birthday celebration of Vice President Bawumia, he celebrated the event with cured lepers by having breakfast with them.
The Vice President, accompanied by his wife, Samira started the celebration by visiting the Weija Leprosarium to interact with cured lepers, majority of whom have been abandoned by their families.
Dr. Bawumia, who is the Life Patron of Lepers Aid Ghana, has often shared fond moments with cured lepers in the country on special occasions, including festive seasons.
Speaking on the development, Ishaq Kyei-Brobbey noted that “Mahama was rather in Ashanti region claiming NPP treats them like lepers. Bawumia didn’t insult lepers but Mahama was insulting lepers.”
He observed that the “insults would remain with Mahama” adding that he will suffer a downfall for it in his political life.
