Dr. Ishaq Kyei Brobbey, a Senior Lecturer at Kumasi Technical University (KsTU), has thrown down the gauntlet, asking Randy Abbey if he’s aware that galamsey, or illegal mining, is still ongoing under the NDC government.
Dr. Ishaq Kyei Brobbey comments came during an interview on Wontumi’s morning show, where he urged Randy Abbey to take action on the issue, given his vocal criticism of galamsey under the previous government.
He called on President Mahama to utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) to combat galamsey, as promised, rather than relying on military personnel who may not fully understand the issue.
He warned that the current approach could lead to further problems, stating “these boys are going to slaughter the house.” Dr. Afriyie emphasized the need for a more strategic and sustainable solution to address the galamsey menace.
Dr. Ishaq Kyei Brobbey also reminded the President of his pledge to release illegal miners arrested under the previous government, now that he’s in power.
