A member of the communications team member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ernest Frimpong, has challenged former President John Dramani Mahama, to tell Ghanaians what exactly he will be doing in the next four years if he’s given the opportunity to rule.
Speaking on Movement in the morning show on Movement TV/ Wontumi Radio, he said that the former President and the entire NDC do not have an alternative.
“What is Mahama coming to do in the next four years as a person. What’s his alternative- not just himself, but the entire NDC. They should give us a reason for which they should be voted for into power”, he said.
He asked “is Mahama not the same person that said that four years is never enough to develop the country- what then will he be able to do when he’s given a four-year mandate?”
He said that even the party folks shouldn’t vote for the NDC only because they are party members, but they should have a reason for which they are voting.
He furthered that children who were denied access to their secondary education between 2009 and 2016 because they had no funds to do so, should be apologized to.
“Whenever we see such people, we ought to apologize to them- it wouldn’t had been so if the NPP was in power. Because from 2016 till date, not school going child had been denied access to their secondary education because of financial constraints. We’ve changed the narrative as a political power”, he noted.
He went further to say that every election has an affect and the 2024 is no different. Hence, Ghanaians must vote wisely.
“It’s good that the ‘breaking-the-eight’ mantra has begun in Nigeria. This tells that we have the potential to also break the eight here in Ghana. However, we need to remain focus and ensure that our strategy is working for us a political party”, he stressed.
