We Will Train TVET Students To Meet Industry Demand- Dr Fred Kyei Asamoah

The Director General for Technical And Vocational Education, Dr Fred Kyei Asamoah  has said that, technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) will be tailored towards meeting the demands of the informal sector.

Speaking on Movement In The Morning with Oheneba Asiedu, he stated that, President Akufo-Addo has established the TVET commission to train qualified personals and promote TVET education in Ghana.

He added that, the initiative will fill in the gap in the “one district one factory agenda” by providing every district with qualified personals to ensure the progress of the initiative and boost the TVET sector.

‘’The commission for TVET will partner organizations to give students the platform to intern while training so that they can gain hands on experience before they complete their course”, he said

He indicated that, the TVET program is backed by the constitution and it cannot be changed unless parliament makes a decision.

He called on privately owned businesses to support the commission to implement the program to boost the economy in the area of entrepreneurship, which will to help reduce unemployment in the system.

Over the years, TVET has been regarded as an outmoded curriculum, but through the intervention of the government it is receiving it stands again.
