We will force Prez Mahama to sign the anti LGBTQ+ Bill –  Paul Yandoh

Paul Yandoh, the Ashanti Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed his disappointment and frustration with President John Mahama’s State of the Nation address.

Speaking in an interview with Wontumi TV, his main concern was the president’s silence on the anti-LGBTQ+ bill, which has been a topic of controversy in Ghana.

According to Yandoh, the president’s failure to address the bill was a disrespect to the clergy, who have been advocating for the bill’s passage.

He emphasized that the practice of homosexuality is rampant in the country and that the president’s inaction on the bill was unacceptable.

Mr Yandoh also criticized the president for not apologizing to the clergy for not signing the bill, despite promising to do so. He described the president’s excuses as unconvincing and reiterated that the NPP would continue to pressure the president to sign the bill into law.

The Ashanti Regional Communications Director of the NPP also expressed disappointment that President John Mahama didn’t address the cancellation of the betting tax and the e-levy tax during his State of the Nation address.

These taxes were a significant concern for many Ghanaians, and the president had promised to cancel them during his campaign

“The president’s silence on these matters has led to accusations that he is not fulfilling his campaign promises.”

In a developing story, the member of parliament for Bekwai constituency, Lawyer Ralph Opoku adusie hs stated that the SONA presented by the president is a clear indication of failure and that the NPP will continue to hold the president accountable for his actions and push for transparency on these critical issues..
