We Trust Health Minister To Get Us Posted — 2018 Graduate Nurses In Ashanti.

Some members of the 2018 Graduate Nurses who are still home despite assurances from the Health Ministry to get them posted to their areas of work say they are hopeful that the Health Minister, Dr Kwaku Agyemang-Manu will intervene for them.

Speaking during a visit to the Kumasi Office of the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper, four members of the 2018 graduate nurses including Linda Fosuaah, Winnifred Amuzu Esinam, Rita Ampofo and Clement Kwarteng said their appeal during the recent demonstration in Accra have reached the good ears of the Minister.

They noted that the recent protest march in Accra was only a means to get authorities to get to know their grievances.

The group said just like the Health Minister since assuming office has ensured that previous batches got their postings they were sure he would push for the 2018 batch to get their postings.

CLAIMS:
The four said many had been telling them that their slots have been given to the 2019 batch of graduate nurses.

Others, they revealed, were also spreading news that the slots meant for her batch are being sold to those who could pay and get posted.

All these claims, they noted, have been the cause of lack of communication from the Health Ministry.

They were however hopeful that once the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwifery Association and other allied bodies in the Health Ministry have taken notice of their grievances they would soon be posted.

ANOTHER DEMONSTRATION:
Hinting this reporter, the 2018 graduate nurses said leadership of their batch had planned another demonstration for the 9th of May to press home their demands.

This, they noted, may be averted by the swift response from the Health Ministry through the Minister, adding that she is hopeful their postings may come before that day.

The group reiterated their appeal to the Health Minister to ensure the 2018 batch are considered and their postings done swiftly to enable them work with the knowledge they have acquired in school.
