We Don’t Do Maths At Court- Lawyer Speaks On 7-0 Thrashing (VIDEO)

It Would Be Harder For Lawyers Who JM To Rise To Be Judges- University Lecturer

After being bombarded with 7-0 thrashing at the Supreme Court, Lawyer Justice Abdulai has come out to say that the court doesn’t work with mathematics but rather, deep thinking.

For this reason, he claims that he would be heading back to the Supreme Court for a review. In an interview on Wontumi TV, the lawyer stated that he believes the judges could switch their stance and accept his case as he files for a review.

“It would be difficult to get all of them thinking my way but it doesn’t mean it can’t happen”, Lawyer Justice Abdulai said.

He went to the Supreme Court challenging the decision of First Deputy Speaker Joseph Osei-Owusu, to be counted as part of the quorum to pass the 2022 budget.

But in a unanimous decision given by Justices Jones Dotse, Nene Amegather, Prof Ashie Kotey, Mariama Owusu, Lovelace Johnson, Clemence Honyenuga and Yonny Kulendi, the writ was thrown out.

Mr Abdulai is of the firm view that the ruling on the interpretation of Articles 102 and 104 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana by the highest court of the country was not definite on the Deputy Speakers casting vote when the need arose on the floor of the House.
