A communicator for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Charles Osei, has made a startling revelation about the party’s defeat in the previous elections.
In an interview on Wontumi’s morning show, Charles Osei disclosed that fertilizers meant for distribution to farmers in the Atwima Nwabiagya North constituency were hoarded until after the elections.
According to Osei, the delayed distribution of fertilizers had a devastating impact on the party’s performance in the constituency. He explained that the constituency is predominantly a farming community, with about 60% of the residents engaged in farming. The failure to provide them with fertilizers on time led to widespread apathy among the constituents, ultimately contributing to the party’s defeat.
Charles Osei emphasized that the party leadership must learn from this mistake and take steps to prevent a repeat in the future. He specifically cautioned against repeating the same errors in the upcoming 2026 polling station elections.
He also stressed the need for the party to re-examine its approach and leadership style, noting that the party chairman’s authoritarian tendencies would not help the party when it is headed in the wrong direction.
