We Can’t Vote For A ‘Dead Goat’ As President – NAPO Punches Mahama

The running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh known within politics as NAPO has fired shots at former President John Mahama.

During one of his campaign tours, NAPO was captured in a video discouraging people from voting for the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama who under his tenure described himself as a ‘dead goat and therefore immune to attacks.

NAPO recounted when John Mahama during a trip to Namibia and while addressing the Ghanaian community, described himself as a dead goat during his reign. Napo therefore urged those who had gathered to listen to him, to desist from voting for a dead goat who did not care about the needs of the citizens.

“Ghanaians complained about “Dumsor” he ignored. People cried for jobs, he ignored as well. This is someone who described himself as a dead goat during his reign.  Do we want a dead goat as a President? As a presidential candidate, whilst people are in need of hospitals, you have promised to build morgues. Nana Addo and Bawumia government is the only government who has constructed 111 hospitals in Ghana”. He disclosed.

It would be recalled that in 2015, John Mahama stated he has become impervious to threats of strikes and demonstrations in Ghana and will not succumb to any of such threats in the upcoming election year.

Adopting what he calls a “dead-goat syndrome”, the President said he would not be hoodwinked by such strategies by workers.

This comment from John Mahama was triggered by threats from the Trades Union Congress and other workers’ unions to hit the streets to protest the worsening economic crisis.

The then President, John Mahama said such demonstrations are part of strategies by workers’ groups to tie the hands of the Government, especially in election years.
