The Tesano Police Depot in Accra was flooded with sympathizers and fans on Saturday November 5th, 2021 as the family of late highlife legend Nana Kwame Ampadu I held a celebration for him.
Veterans, Chiefs and celebrities of all calibre were seen at the event to mourn with the family of highlife legend, Nana Kwame Ampadu I.
Ministers of state, celebrities and stakeholders from the creative arts industry including Akosua Agyapong, Akuma Mama Zimbi, actress Emelia Brobbey and actor Salinko were seen at the event.
Media personalities, and traditional rulers were present to commiserate with the family.
Nana Kwame Ampadu sadly passed on September 28th, 2021 after battling a short illness. He dies at the age of 76.
The solemn ceremony was to celebrate 40-days memorial to honour the late Highlife legend, following his untimely demise on September 28, 2021.

Before his death, Nana Kwame Ampadu I was a household name and regarded as one of the greatest musicians from Ghana.
His life was marked with great hit songs and exceptional milestones in the entertainment industry.
Nana Kwame Ampadu has influenced the careers of dozens of musicians and his dues are given him anytime the topic of Highlife Music is placed on the table for discussion.
Nana Kwame Ampadu is credited with numerous highlife songs and regarded as one of Ghana’s legends in the music industry with over 800 songs to his credit.
He came to prominence in 1967 when he released his song Ebi Te Yie (or “Some Are Well Seated”), a song that was seen as potentially critical of the then-governing National Liberation Council and disappeared from the airwaves, only returning after the end of military rule.
In 1973 he won a nationwide competition in Ghana to be crowned the Odwontofoohene, or “Singer-in-Chief”.
