Thomas Partey reminded Arsenal fans of his class as he produced an imperious performance in their 5-1 victory over Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
The Ghanaian midfielder who is rumoured to be on his way out of the club showed the club what they could be missing with an industrious performance against Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday, February 2, 2024.
Partey who turns 31 in March was outstanding, serving as the orchestrator of Arsenal’s huge win, standing in defence and attack.
In attack, Partey’s goal which restored Arsenal’s lead shortly after Manchester City drew parity became the platform for the club’s success in the game.
His goal which came in the 56th minute saw him intercept a pass from English midfielder, Phil Foden before unleashing a powerful shot which was deflected into the City net
. Partey managed to complete 88% of his passes in the game, made one successful dribble and completed 3 out 4 accurate long balls.
The Ghanaian midfield anchor completed two clearances, two interceptions and seven recoveries.
His performance did not go unnoticed as Arsenal fans hailed him on social media. Partey was commended with calls on the club to extend his deal.
