The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi has once again asserted his position as the powerhouse of NPP politics in the region.
The popular Regional Chairman did not disappoint, even in the face of extreme challenges after giving the Vice President and the party’s Presidential Candidate, His Excellency Dr Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia and his entourage a rousing welcome to the region.
In what could be described as a triumphant entry of the Vice President, the teeming crowd reportedly thronged the residence of the Vice President at Ahodwo Daban early in the morning to welcome him, before walking him all the way to the Tru Vine Hotel at Nhyiaeso where the first meeting on his itinerary is expected to commence.
In a video which has since gone viral, the Vice President is happily seen admiring to cheers from the crowd, flanked by the affable Regional Chairman, Minister for Education, Hon. Osei Adutwum, Campaign Coordinator for the Middle-Belt and MP for Effiduase Asokore, Hon. Dr. Ayew Afriyie.

The Vice President is on a 3-day campaign tour to the region. He and his entourage amongst others, are expected to interact with party members, embark on door to door campaign and hold meetings with organized groups and religious bodies.
The Vice President will also pay a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace.
