The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has made a bold declaration over his stance on the issue of same sex marriage.
In an address delivered at the St Michael and All Angels Cathedral at Mampong in Ashanti region, President Akufo-Addo closed the debate on legalization of same sex marriage by noting that it won’t happen or be legalized under his watch as President.
“I’ve said this before but let me conclusively stress again that it will not be under the Presidency of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that same sex marriage will be legalized in Ghana” the President said during the installation of the 2nd Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Ghana.
President Akufo-Addo followed the above declaration up with “it will never happen in my time as President. Let me repeat, it will never happen in my time as President”.
