(VIDEO) NUGS Election Was Free And Fair- Electoral Commission

The Electoral Commission for the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) election, Ether Abu Ayim has said that the election which was held over the weekend amidst chaos was transparent.

Ether Abu Ayim said the sorting of votes, counting and the declaration of the results was full glare to the public.

Speaking with Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Wontumi TV Morning Show, he said the Commission doesn’t want to give attention to allegations by some contenders who declared themselves victorious during the voting but had the opposite after the declaration.

Ether Abu Ayim noted that the runner up, Kwesi Atuahene has not petitioned the Commission to challenge the results.

Meanwhile, he gave below the votes each of the NUGS Presidential aspirants secured:

Oppong Charles – 33 votes = 3.13%
Kwesi Atuahene – 197 votes = 18.69%
Dennis Appiah Larbi-Ampofo – 824 votes = 78.18%
