With the history of the New Patriotic Party in mind, the party’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has observed that his party loves and accommodates Muslims than the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In an interview on the Security Tips show which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, the NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi urged Ghanaians to ignore the propaganda by the NDC that the NPP doesn’t love and recognize the Muslim community and people living in Zongos.
“NPP was formed out of the Northern People’s Party and it is what has made the party what it is today. Former President Kufour made a Muslim his partner; Nana Addo has also made Bawumia his vice… It is only the NPP that has sent people who believe in the Bible and Quaran to Castle and Jubilee House. Under President Akufo-Addo, we have a lot of ministers hailing from the Northern region,” the NPP Chairman stated on the show.
He reiterated the need for Ghanaians to ignore anybody who accuses the NPP of disliking the Muslim group.
He explained that “it is a propaganda plot by the NDC to distract us. We have created a whole ministry for Northerners…we also have the Zongo Development Fund”.
