Prof. Mike Aaron Oquaye has advised against mounting pressure on elected Members of Parliament.
In an exclusive interview with Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Wontumi TV which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, the outgoing Speaker of Parliament stated that when constituents elect their MPs, they must be patient with that fellow when it comes to making personal request from them and bear in mind, they have elected them to work on behalf.
“Requesting money from them and forcing them to attend outdooring is not right”, Prof. Mike Aaron Oquaye simply stated.
He also added that he is very surprised some hardworking MPs would not be returning to the 8th Parliament of the 4th republic of Ghana.
He refused to mention specific names but stated that “I was very surprised because some of them were hardworking but we must respect the verdict of the electorates.”
