The Krachi Youth in the Krachi West Municipality of the Oti Region hit the street on Thursday to demonstrate their displeasure at the frequent power outages for which they blame NEDCo the state power supply organisation operating in the Municipality.
Business activities in the Municipal are gradually collapsing due to the erratic power supply situation because NEDCo has been unable to provide a stable supply of electricity for the past six months.
The Demonstration attracted people from far and near to team up and hit the streets of Krachi.
They began the protest march from Gyanekrom, GBC Krachi Radio Junction through the town to the lakeside and ended the Demonstration at the Municipal Assembly office where they presented their petition to the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon.
Emmanuel Kajal Jalula.
Mr Ben Ntoso, who is the Youth President read the petition in front of the demonstrators and later presented a copy to the MCE.
In response to the petition, Hon. Jalula promised the people that their grievances would be forwarded to the office of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo.
