The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has jumped to the defense of the Minister-designate for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson, stating that her work rate is higher and better than most people who speak fluent English.
Speaking on the Nsempa Fie show last Saturday, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi stated that Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson distinguished herself and showed that she is capable of managing any role assigned her when her works at the Ministry for Special Initiative is taken into account.
“Look at Hawa Koomson, though her initiative we were able to get a lot of Ambulances in the country. She has proven reasonable doubt that she is capable of managing her new portfolio. She has ensured that we have many dams for irrigation. You don’t have to use English to measure her work rate”, Chairman Wontumi said
Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson became a subject of public ridicule after the Member of Parliament for Boadi, Sampson Ahi asked her the definition of fish farming during her vetting and she fumbled.
But Chairman Wontumi indicated that yielding results is better than speaking fluent English.
“I can’t speak fluent English but when I am given work to do, I deliver it to satisfaction”, Chairman Wontumi said.
