A legislator on the side of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Hon. Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi, has expressed shock over the number of seats his party lost during the 2020 Parliamentary elections.
In an interview on the Wontumi Morning Show which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, the Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem Central, Hon. Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi revealed that he had expected his party to lose some seats but didn’t expect it to be on a large scale.
“I am surprised we lost most seats. I thought we would have lost only few seats. It is now 137-137 seats for both parties with an independent candidate and he will be on our side (NPP). Ndc wanted it but they didnt get it. We now have the power to elect the Speaker, his deputy and Chairmen”, he said.
Despite losing more seats to the NDC, Hon. Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi noted that it should not give them (NDC) a reason to think they outperformed the NPP.
