One person against the role of Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin’s as Speaker of Parliament is Mr. Thomas Kusi Boafo.
The Chief Executive Officer of Public Sector Reforms in an interview on Wontumi TV stated that there is no fairness when it comes to political ideologies bearing in mind the current Speaker of Parliament is aligned to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and not the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He maintained that Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin may be firm when it comes to practicing politics but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be biased when it comes to giving the NDC an upper hand over the NPP in a tight situation.
“I wouldn’t have preferred Alban Bagbin as Speaker. We (NPP) are in power and in Parliament, an opposition controls it. We haven’t reached that level yet as a country. At a critical point in time, he (Bagbin) may not be a favorable person for the NPP government“, Mr. Thomas Kusi Boafo predicted.
He touted the new Speaker of Parliament as a good man but insisted that “he may be a good man and have linkages with NPP; but NPP is NPP and NDC is NDC… We don’t have fairness when it comes to political ideologies.”
