(VIDEO) HIV/AIDS Is Not Killer Disease, Test To See If You Have Been Infected- Aids Commission

The Ghana Aids Commission has bemoaned that fears have escalated in a section of Ghanaians following the recent report that several people have tested positive for the virus.

Recently it was reported that a total of 23,495 people in Ghana tested positive for HIV in the first half of this year (January to June).

The figure is two per cent of the 948,094 people who undertook HIV testing from January to June 2022, the Programme Manager of the National STIs and HIV/AIDS Control Programme, Dr Stephen Ayisi Addo said.

Speaking on Wontumi TV Morning Show, Director General of the Ghana HIV/AIDS Commission Dr Kyeremeh Atuahene said, the disease is no more killable.

Dr Kyeremeh Atuahene tasked Ghanaians to shun the misconception that the disease is witchcraft, curse or spiritual.

He urged Ghanaians to test to know if they have contracted it or not.
