VIDEO: Govt Should Support Movie Industry – Samuel Nyamekye
Ace Movie producer, Samuel Nyamekye has called on the government to support the Ghanaian movie industry.
According to Samuel Nyamekye, the Nigeria government supports its movie industry but Ghana is the opposite.
The Miracle Films producer was speaking on Wontumi Entertainment Zone with the host, Vincent Kofi Osei aka Stain on Friday night during a discussion on “Inadequate Investors” in the Ghanaian movies.
He said Nigerians don’t gag with their movies adding that the Ministry gives direction to the producers.
The originator of Kumawood said when he introduced Kumawood some producers came on board to invest in the industry and had their money in return.
But he was quick to assert that, the story has been different recently.
However, Samuel Nyamekye bemoaned that there are associations in the industry but they are toothless.
