(VIDEO) Fire Destroys 5- Bedroom House, GHc12,000 Burns @ Esereso- High-Tension
A five-bedroom house has been razed down by fire at High- Tension, a suburb of Kumasi.
A cash of GHc 12,000 plus other property got burnt in the fire.
The unfortunate incident occurred on the evening of Wednesday, January 5.
The cause of the fire is yet to be established.
The Landlord, Yaw Agyei told Wontumionline’s Nana Owusu Achiaw that he was away and got a call about the sad incident and quickly called the fire service for help.
“My 80 year old mother and children were my concern but fortunately, they escaped the fire,”he said.
The Assistant Divisional Officer 1 of Asokwa Fire Service, Bernard Teye told Nana Owusu Achiaw that, they had the call around 6:50 pm that a house at High-Tension was in flames.
“When we got to the scene, the house was in flames but we did our best to control it,” he said.
Bernard Teye indicated that, due to the burglar-proof entrance of the house, his team found it difficult to penetrate and it took 2 hours to control it.
He advised citizens to switch off electrical appliances when leaving home or sleeping in this harmattan season.
