Member of Parliament for Boadi Constituency, Samson Ahi, has been chided by a former Member of Parliament for Mahyia North Constituency for his conduct during the vetting of the Minister-designate for Fisheries and Aquaculture.
Samson Ahi’s question to Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson subjected her to public ridicule of which many believe it was deliberately asked.
For this reason, former MP for Manyhia North, Hon. Collins Owusu Amankwah stated on the Nsempa Fie show on Wontumi TV that it is wrong to measure someone’s intelligence based on the fact that the person could be fluent in the English language.
Hon. Owusu Amankwah contends that it was clear that for mischievous purposes, the NDC panel on the vetting committee led by Hon Samson Ahi “were using the Queen’s language to measure Hawa Koomson’s level of intelligence.”
He therefore opined that the approach taken by the NDC legislator to ridicule the Minister-nominee for Fisheries and Aquaculture “was a big shame and a very weak point.”
