VIDEO: BREAKING….30 Travellers Die In Accident On The Buipe – Damongo Road
About 30 passengers were feared dead in a ghastly accident on the Buipe-Damnongo Road at dawn on Wednesday.
Two passenger vehicles coming from the opposition directions are said to have collided along the road leading to the carnage.
Our reporter who broke the news on Wontumi Radio on Wednesday said some of the passengers on board the two vehicles, one of which was coming from Kumasi and the other from Bawku , were trapped for a long time before personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service arrived to rescue them.
According to our reporter the bodies of some of the dead could hardly be recognized as they were mutilated while some of the survivors.
Also in Uganda, an early morning road accident left 32 people dead at dawn on Wednesday in Uganda.
A statement from the Ugandan Red Cross Society the road carnage which involved five vehicles occurred along the Kesese – Hoima Road.
Five survivors were rushed to a nearby hospital at Kilembe with various degree of injuries.
Last week along the Mbarara-Masaka road a haulage truck loaded with onions over-turned due to what was strongly suspected to be a break failure killing the driver instantly.
According to research findings by the Makerere University about 9,000 people die in road accident in Uganda every year.
Uganda’s high rate of road accidents like most parts of Africa attributed to poor road infrastructure.
