Vanessa Hudgens Marries Professional Baseball Player Cole Tucker in Mexico: Sources

Vanessa Hudgens and Cole Tucker have tied the knot!

The High School Musical alum, 34, and her fiancé, professional baseball player Cole Tucker, said “I do” on Saturday in Tulum, Mexico, sources confirm to PEOPLE.

Over the weekend, a photo surfaced on X (formerly Twitter) of Hudgens posing on the beach barefoot in a casual white dress. Further fueling speculation that the actress celebrated her wedding, her former HSM costar Monique Coleman posted a video on her Instagram Story showing footage of a tropical setting in Tulum.

Reps for both Hudgens and Tucker, 27, didn’t respond to PEOPLE’s requests for comment.

The pair first sparked dating rumors in November 2020, when they were seen holding hands in Los Angeles. They shared the happy news of their engagement in February.

Since the start of their relationship, the pair — who met on a Zoom meditation group call — have been head over heels. “I get on the Zoom, and I’m like, ‘Who is that?’ ” Hudgens shared on The Drew Barrymore Show in May 2021. “I found him, and we started talking.”

“If I want something or someone, I’m going after them. I fully just slid into his DMs and was like, ‘Hey, it was nice to meet you.’ So I think there is no shame in making the first move,” she added.

The actress and professional baseball player made their red carpet debut in November 2021 at the premiere of her film Tick … Tick … Boom!

In a rare interview, Tucker even bragged about his “cool” girlfriend, telling reporters at the event of Hudgens, “She’s awesome. I love her.”

In the months before their marriage, Hudgens and Tucker posted plenty of sweet relationship snaps on Instagram, including some of them sharing a wholesome hug on Earth Day, rubbing their feet together and exchanging a Valentine’s Day kiss.

“Real magnetic love is out there,” Hudgens wrote on Instagram earlier this year. “What a journey it was to get here but so worth it to get to my forever @cotuck 🥰. Happy Valentine’s Day.”

As for wedding planning, the singer and actress previously called the whole process “hard” in her conversation with Drew Barrymore.

Hudgens admitted at the time that she was struggling to figure out where to hold the ceremony. “I don’t know, finding a venue is tough,” she said, adding, “I kind of just want to elope. I really, I’m lost.”

When asked about Tucker’s thoughts, Hudgens replied, “I mean, he just wants to get married to me. He’s like, ‘Whatever you want, babe.’ “

Hudgens told PEOPLE in March that her engagement left her surprised, although she knew the moment would eventually come.

“I was extremely surprised,” she said of Tucker’s proposal. “We had definitely talked about it, but I did not expect it to happen the way that it happened and the moment that it happened. It definitely caught me off guard and I was bawling my eyes out.”

During an April appearance on Today with Hoda & Jenna, Hudgens got candid about her feelings over getting engaged.

“It feels amazing. It’s so funny, I was talking about this with Cole. … People are always like, ‘Does it feel different? [Do] things feel different [getting engaged]?’ ” she shared. “That was always my question normally, but now I get to be asked it.”

“And you know what, it actually does,” the Knight Before Christmas star continued. “There’s a sense of security. You feel so safe. It’s the best thing ever. I love being a fiancée.”

Hudgens added that she knew Tucker was “the one” very early on. “After our first weekend together, I called my sister and was like, ‘I think I just found my future husband,’ ” she said, noting that she was immediately drawn in by “who he is.”

She also responded to Tucker’s tweet from back in 2012 when he was a teen about being “in search of: A girl who’s down to watch High School Musical with me and scratch my back.”

“I know it really is so funny,” acknowledged Hudgens, who played Gabriella Montez in the Disney film series.

In October, Hudgens celebrated ahead of her wedding with a bachelorette weekend in Aspen, Colorado, which was attended by pals including Sarah Hyland.

“The most iconic bachelorette weekend in Aspen thanks to my GIRLS and @airbnb. Couldn’t ask for a more perfect home base 🥰,” Hudgens wrote in her Instagram caption, as she posted a video of her pre-wedding celebrations.
