Prof. Steve Hanke has been advised by Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako to use his “voodoo” economics to save banks collapsing in the United States of America rather than channelling his energy on talking about Ghana’s economy.
The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is of the firm opinion that Prof. Steve Hanke is “nobody” when it comes to economics in his home country so wants to gain recognition by talking about Ghana to get attention- but often gets it wrong using his dashboard.
Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako also known as Chairman Wontumi disclosed to Wontumionline.com in an interview that “there is no easy life anywhere in the world now” and expects Prof. Steve Hanke to eat the humble pie and focus on his private life rather than poke his nose into matters he doesn’t even understand.
“I am entreating Hanke to eat humble pie…Ghana doesn’t need his voodoo economics. There financial turmoil across the globe and the era of cheap living is over due to the catastrophe the Russia-Ukraine war has brought. There is no easy life anywhere in the world now”, Chairman Wontumi said.
The NPP Chairman backed his statements by citing Klaus Müller, the head of the German Federal Network Agency (BNetzA).
The head of the regulator is on record to have stated that the days of cheap energy resources that Germany received from Russia are finally over.
As reported by the Eastern Herald, Klaus Müller did not rule out that in the next heating season 2023/2024 Germany could face a gas shortage. Mueller suggested the winter could turn out to be cold and also pointed to households and businesses that he thinks aren’t saving enough. At the same time, he expects wholesale electricity prices to fall in six months or a year at the earliest.
“You have to get used to higher prices”, he underlined.
Chairman Wontumi also chipped in a report from CNN which stated that to reassure customers; VeraBank CEO Brad Tidwell gave them his cell number and said they could call.
“Most of the institutions you’re hearing about were somewhat single-focused,” he says. “I do not believe there’s a reason to panic. I do not believe this is systemic.”
