A Private Legal Practitioner, John Darko has lavished praises on President Akufo-Addo saying the nomination of Gertrude Torkornoo as the new Chief Justice is a perfect timing.
The President in a letter to the Council of State on Tuesday, April 25, nominated Gertrude Torkonoo to replace Chief Justice Anin Yeboah who is due to retire from the bench on May 24, 2023.
In an interview on Wontumi TV Morning Show, Lawyer John Darko said the nomination is a step in the right direction.
“Less than a month, Anin Yeboah will retire so it’s good President has nominated his successor early,” he told Nana Konadu Abu Prah.
Eulogizing Gertrude Torkonoo, Lawyer John Darko said she is very fair and impartial.
“Gertrude Torkornoo is competent and also God-fearing,” he added.
“Her nomination by the President is an encouragement and it’s good for democracy,” he noted
