There Would Be Dumsor If NDC Fails To Continue With Gold For Oil Policy- Hon Osei Kyei-Mensah Bonsu

Failure to continue with the Gold for Oil policy would lead to unstable distribution of electricity, Hon. Osei-Mensah Bonsu has warned.

The former Member of Parliament for Suame Constituency and Majority leader stated in an interview on Wontumi TV that Ghana risked facing imminent dumsor if the policy is abandoned.

“Ghana is not getting fuel because NDC said it will cancel gold for oil programme”, the former legislator said.

He explained that the oil exporters from Dubai stalled the exportation process because they got a signal the newly elected National Democratic Congress (NDC) government wants to abolish the Gold for Oil policy implemented by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.

“The journey from Dubai to Ghana on sea takes weeks, so if they sense you want to abolish the policy, they will halt the process of bringing oil here”.
