The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi has described ex-President John Mahama as Coach Milo with no second chance.
On the 3rd of March, 2022 ex-President Mahama gave a speech on the theme “Ghana At A Crossroad”. In his alternative solution to the e-levy implementation, he said, “A Democratic Congress Government, God willing and with the votes of the sovereign people of Ghana-in 2025- will repeal the E-levy Act”.
Chairman Wontumi speaking on the above said, “When NPP revealed its flagship program on the free SHS policy while in opposition, Mahama, the President at the time could not believe the NPP led government will be able to embark on such policy, because according to him, there was no money for that. But Nana Akufo-Addo proved him wrong and showed him it could be done”.
“As the President, Mahama spent his time at the Jubilee house dancing with women, instead of him going to the cabinet and thinking about the progress of the country, he was enjoying the “Papano” terminology. He couldn’t do the job because he saw his presidency as a competition with other Nigerian billionaires. He wanted to be on the same level with Good luck Jonathan and the rest. You got the chance to enjoy Atta Mills’ regime and your four-year tenure, and that was the end of your presidency”, he added.
“You are backing people to go against me but I want to assure you that it won’t work. If you are to compete with me, you will lose”, he disclosed.
According to Chairman Wontumi, he has an interest in the NDC and will ensure the party presents Mahama as the flag-bearer to guarantee NDC’s loss in the coming elections.
“Duffuor is sharing canopies and chairs, I will donate canopies and chairs for you to share so you win the flagbearship. Although EIU has cautioned your party members not to present you as their next flagbearer, I will make sure you lead 2024 elections on the ticket of the NDC, and Ghanaian’s already know the result”,he stated.
“When Milo came for the first time in 2010 we witnessed his strength and capabilities, he came the second time and it was a disaster. Your second coming will be complete damage to the country but for NDC to stay in opposition for long, I will bring back John Mahama ”.
“Nana Akufo-Addo is the only president who has shown genuine love and commitment to Ghanaian’s Kwame Nkrumah met 4.5 million population but we never got free water and light. President Akufo-Addo during the pandemic fed Ghanaian’s and gave free water and light to support the economic recession people were facing. He lifted the country in at a very critical point”, he pointed out.
“The year of return in Ghana was a new dawn of hope for the country’s economy till the pandemic hit us. Yet amid the crisis, we stopped paying toll fees, and the President restored the nurses and teacher trainee allowance and all workers in the government sectors were paid. At the same time, America was experiencing inflation for the first time in 22 years. Akufo-Addo should be applauded”, he added
Chairman Wontumi indicated that President Akufo-Addo has set a good record in the history of Ghana.
“Whoever NPP will present as the flag-bearer will continue with the baton”, he concluded.
