Former President John Mahama should learn to respect the State of Ghana by refraining from telling lies on her anytime he is given a platform to speak, Dr. Samuel Afriyie has humbly advised.
The Kumasi Technical University lecturer made this passionate appeal on Wontumi TV’s morning show.
Former President John Mahama has accused President Akufo-Addo of misappropriating monies meant for Covid-19 relief.
According to him, the President channelled some ¢33 billion earmarked to offset the pandemic’s grave implications into his 2020 re-election bid.
The former President made these allegations during the 24th African Business Conference organised by the Harvard Business School.
Railing against the partisan posture taken by Mr. Mahama when he addressed the gathering, Dr. Afriyie explained that Mr. Mahama should have backed his claims with evidence.
“His statements were partisan but he should rather see himself as a Statesman because it is the state that takes care of him. He should learn to tone down on some of partisan issues. He should provide evidence to whatever he claims”, Dr. Afriyie advised.
