The Saglemi Housing Project Is The Biggest “Crime Scene”- Lawyer Appiah Tells Prez. Mahama

Ashanti regional secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Adom Appiah, has lambasted President Mahama, criticizing his recent comments on the Akufo-Addo administration.

Lawyer Appiah’s remarks come after President Mahama accused former President Akufo-Addo of turning Ghana into a “crime scene” due to alleged mismanagement of funds for the agenda 111 project.

However, Appiah countered that President Mahama’s criticism is a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black.

He cited the Saglemi housing project, which was initiated during Mahama’s administration, as a prime example of mismanagement and corruption.

“The Saglemi housing project was expected to deliver 5,000 rooms, but what did we get? A paltry 1,200 rooms, and none of them are even inhabitable,” Appiah pointed out.

“What’s even more shocking is that I’m sure there are staff members of the Ministry of Works and Housing, the very ministry responsible for the project, struggling to find decent accommodation. Some are renting, while others are living with friends and family,” he added.

Appiah accused President Mahama of hypocrisy, highlighting that the minister in charge of the project, Collins Dauda, was sent to court over the scandal, only to have the charges dropped when Mahama returned to power.
