Ashanti Regional Organizer for NPP, Dennis Kwakwa has assured the rank and file of the ruling party that the youth front is solid as far as the Ashanti Region is concerned and are poised to spearhead the public sensitization particularly, on the manifesto.
Mr Kwakwa who was speaking on Wontumi TV and Radio said from next Sunday the youth will roll out a publicity programme using the television platforms to launch an onslaught on the NDC by exposing former President John Mahama, as not being truthful to Ghanaians.
‘’We have a number of video clips on some pronouncements made by the former President in which out of shortsightedness or envy, he openly tried to ridicule or run down some major human-centered programmes by the NPP only to turn round to include them in the manifesto blueprint. They do this with an intention to implement same – either directly or in a veiled form.”
According to Mr; Kwakwa, the former President on various platforms for example spoke against the implementation of the free SHS,a major flagship programme of the NPP government.
However, in the NDCs manifesto they have outlined policies directly linked to the free SHS implementation – something they have so consciously and mischievously degraded
“ Our publicity programme on TV to expose the double standards of the NDC will convince Ghanaians why the NDC cannot be trusted under any circumstance why John Mahama doesn’t deserve a 4 year extension of tenure.
Mr Kwakwa recalled that in 2001 when the NDC took over from John Agyekum Kufuor the solid foundation already laid through his vision and hard work was destroyed by them.
He added that, “if Ghanaians make a similar mistake by voting for John Mahama in this year’s election a similar fate would befall them – all that Nana Addo and the NPP have achieved will wither away.”
According to Mr Kwakwa the 2020 elections is particularly for the benefit of the youth of Ghana so they should be at the forefront in ensuring that the slogan, “4-more for Nana” is actualized.
He re-emphasized that the NPP has good plans for the country especially, the youth.
Mr. Kwakwa therefore urged them to position themselves so that all the projects Nana Addo has initiated as well as those in the pipeline will be completed or initiated respectively.
He assured those who are gaining skills through apprenticeship that a bill that will ensure that the free SHS policy is extended to cover the apprenticeship fee and the high cost of starting their own businesses is before Parliament and will soon be passed.
