A communications team member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ishmael Adams, has stated that the NDC’s press conference is always about lies and propaganda.
This comes after the opposition NDC had held a press conference to speak against the Electoral Commission’s (EC) decision to use the Ghana card as the document for voting.
Speaking on Movement In The Morning Show on Wontumi Radio/Movement TV, Mr. Adams stated that “the 17 million people who have been captured by the EC as eligible voters to cast ballot in Ghana are not the only people going to vote because the EC has made it known to us that it will continue with the registration because that’s the only primary source of identification in Ghana. The passport is a travelling document, therefore any NPP member listening to me should ensure they get their Ghana card. Because the election ahead is a crucial one and looking at the many projects executed by the NPP we must ensure we win election 2024. Therefore breaking the eight is a must and the card will play a vital role”.
“The NDC is always opposing anything by the government without analyzing its benefit therefore I will urge Ghanaians not to pay heed to them. Their press conference is a moment of lies and propaganda. And Sammy Gyamfi has began exactly that”, he added.
“The election machinery which was being used by the NDC’s whereby the ballot box was opaque, no voter ID card and even the card was black and white- but the NPP had made several reforms to improve the voting system, so they think similar things may happen to them. All that I’m saying is that they should leave the Electoral Commission to do it’s job”, he stressed.
