Chief Executive of COCOBOD, Honorable Joseph Boahen Aidoo, has described the NDCs leading some of the cocoa farmer groups, as persons whose DNAs are filled lies and propaganda.
Speaking in an interview with Kwaku Dawuro, on Movement In The Morning show, on Movement TV/Wontumi radio, Hon Joseph denied all claims and allegations levelled against him and COCOBOD, with regards to hoarding a larger percentage of cocoa sales at the expense of the betterment of lives of cocoa farmers.
He responded the allegation of the board taking 40% of cocoa money at the expense of farmers by saying that ” i explained and made calculations clearly yesterday. The DNA of the NDC members leading some of these groups like Ato Forson are filled with lies and propaganda, but and i emphatically stated yesterday that my DNA is filled with cocoa. I was born and bred in it as well as conducted research about cocoa for 17 good years. COCOBOD tax on our administration is 4-5% of the total cost which is evident in our books and audit report.
Industry cost doesn’t mean monies used to pay our stuffs, i explained yesterday that before i came to power, Opuni was being paid Gh75,000 because if you’re the CEO of COCOBOD, you are equivalent to the BOG governor. When i took over i made them reduce my salary by Gh55,000 which had people questioning but i had to be very moderate.”
