Chairman Wontumi would have heavily opened the gap between him and the contestant who placed if the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) were allowed to participate in the recently held elections to elect regional executives.

Members of the students’ wing of the New Patriotic Party, TESCON were prevented from participating the party’s elections which was held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

But Mr. Ishaq Kyei Brobbey underscored that Chairman Wontumi would have won massively if the students were allowed to vote.

In his estimation, Chairman Wontumi could have raked in more voted and extended the gap between him and the candidate who placed second, by over 200 vote difference.

Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, beat Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, Asare Bediako, Kwabena Owusu Aduomi and Kofi Adum Barwuah to be retained Ashanti regional Chairman.
