Ishaq Kyei-Brobbey is challenging Alan Kyeremanten to furnish the party with details on how he plans to pay all national executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) monthly salaries.
The respected lecturer stated on the Wontumi Morning Show that he is wondering if Mr. Kyeremanten, is planning to draw the salaries for the national executives from government coffers or his own personal pocket.
“So the question I ask is that he wants to become President before he will take that amount from the coffers of government to pay party members or is it the party that is going to generate that amount of money before he can pay the grassroot or it is from his personally pocket?” he asked.
He indicated that it has become necessary to demand answers from Mr. Kyeremanten now because if the national executives are to be paid salaries, none of them should receive salaries below the minimum wage of Ghana.
“He is saying that when he comes he will pay the party executives from polling station to electoral area to constituency to region salary. But the issue is that if you say you will pay them salary, in our plans as a country you can’t pay anybody below the minimum wage. The minimum wage is GHC14.88p so if you say you want to pay them and apply the minimum wage, then he (Alan) would need not less than GHC1 billion every year before he can do that”, he said.
“Where is he going to get that money from?” he shockingly asked.
