Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association Bernhard Lippert has advised the federation to turn their attention to grassroots football if the country is to reclaim in glory days of football.
According to the German football manager, investing in grassroots football will help develop a footballing philosophy for the country.
“There are a lot of parts which have to be developed and it starts with the schools and grassroots,” he said. “Grassroot football and football in schools must be better developed,” he added.
“Then we must find a system to identify talent early especially those between the ages of 10 – 14. We must define the most talented players within this age bracket and train them,” he concluded.
Lippert was appointed Technical Director in June and will be in the role for the next two years.
He is expected to liaise with head coach of the Black Stars C.K Akonnor to help end Ghana’s three decades of trophy drought.
